Poolside tips from Dr. J

Hello, hello!

I want to talk about how you can make summer pool time a little heathier!

Many of the big pools are switching over to salt water and this is huge! Chlorine filled pools can actually block the iodine absorption sites for the thyroid. Which can ultimately put you at risk for skin and immune conditions.

If you are going to be in chlorine pools, one of the things you want to start looking at is iodine repair. I’ve linked my favorite here. This is great for kiddos who are on swim teams or jumping in and out of pools all summer.

But if you also have your own, see how easy it is to convert to a saltwater pool. It might be worth your while! Hope these little tips help you today!
