We use saliva as a diagnostic tool. In general, saliva testing offers a look into gastrointestinal problems, stress- and hormone-related illnesses, and the overall wellness of your body. Saliva testing also offers a view into your body’s emotional, hormonal, immunological, nutritional, and metabolic health.
So, how does it work?
- Saliva contains free hormones. Free hormones are the correct reflection of hormonal availability within your body’s tissues. Since optimal health requires a balance of hormones at different levels during different moments of the day, we analyze samples of your saliva over four intervals—8 a.m., noon, 4 p.m., and bedtime—which can give a more accurate assessment than a single, one-dose test such as blood work.
How do I take it?
- You perform this test in the comfort of your own home and then mail the samples to our preferred lab. We contact you to discuss the results. Processing usually takes one week after submission.
