We use hair mineral analysis as a diagnostic tool to test for mineral imbalances, disease trends, and the presence of toxic heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic, and aluminum.
Why is hair an effective subject? In general, element deposits stay in the hair for many months; blood serum is constantly changing. Because of this, hair can often indicate one’s stress patterns, mineral imbalances, organ and glandular weaknesses, oxidation rate, and nervous system dominance. With this data we can make informed suggestions on how to change your environment, modify your diet, and supplement your nutrition.
What can toxic heavy metals affect? Toxic metal poisoning may lead to Alzheimer’s disease, general fatigue, anemia, hyperactivity, arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis, autism, neuromuscular disorders, ADHD, osteoporosis, some cancers, Parkinson’s disease, dementia, and some liver and kidney diseases. Since toxic heavy metals are not found in high concentration in the blood (except after acute exposure), and since no level of toxic metal is considered safe, hair mineral analysis is an important tool in recognizing your current exposure to these elements, which could be caused by any one of these common sources:
- silver & mercury dental amalgams,
- non-filtered, fluoridated tap water,
- contaminated food sources,
- large fish such as tuna and swordfish,
- contaminated air found in large cities,
- aluminum cookware and cans,
- anti-perspirants,
- Grecian hair dyes,

- drying agents.
So, how do I take the test? In general, you cut a small swath of hair and then mail it to our preferred lab.[2] We contact you to discuss the results. Processing usually takes one week after submission.
