Hello, hello.

Today, I want to talk to you a little bit about pain and what we do as parents, as moms, because let’s be honest, we don’t like to see our children hurt.

But let’s look at some ramifications of that. We have situations in place now where you go to the orthodontist, they want you on pain pills. You cut or bruise yourself, they want you on pain pills. You do surgery, yes, you need to be on pain pills. But like, they’re being given out so quickly and so fast. You have a cough, well we’re going to give you codeine.

And what we’re seeing, unfortunately, as the side effect of this, is a massive opioid addiction. And here’s the thing that they’re not talking about. There is a genetic component, which means if you have the genetics and they give you one pill, you will create a lifetime addiction to it.

Alternative Tools

And if you’re not taught that, if that’s not being evaluated, if that’s not being checked, that can be a reason that a loved one, a family member, maybe you, got hooked on that drug. And what I’m seeing is that as a culture, we are not teaching people how to deal with pain. We’re not teaching people alternatives to the pain pill. And so let’s look at some things that you can do.

Number one, we can start looking hard at chiropractic care. There is a plethora of research that says when we’re the first doctors you see in workman’s comp cases, prescriptions and surgeries fall to less than 10%. So, let’s look at can chiropractic help with this chronic pain pattern?

Let’s look at things that we possibly just need to learn to deal with, or we can use differently, like homeopathics, to use for pain when we have orthodontists as opposed to going to heavier pain medications. Teaching people meditation, teaching people thoughtful thinking that allows them to calm down and put the pain in perspective and move forward.

Exercise, small amounts, has been shown to also decrease pain. We can use essential oils. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve used those and immediately calmed down the pain pattern.

Acupuncture. Did you know that in some parts of China, the acupuncturists will do what they do, and the surgeons will come in and do surgery, and there’s no anesthesia done whatsoever? Yeah, that’s a thing. Acupuncture is powerful.


So let’s talk about– you’ve gotten yourself addicted. It’s now a genetic crisis.

So now, we have to go back in and feed those genes. And one of the first things that I like to say is, hey, if we’ve gotten your genetic test back, and yes, you’re genetically addicted to this. Does that not empower you just a little bit knowing it’s not that you’re weak, it’s not that you couldn’t handle this? It’s you were genetically addicted by somebody who failed to check before they wrote you that prescription pill. They should know this. They should be checking for this.

So, let’s accept that you’re now addicted, and you didn’t have a choice in that. But you have a choice now. So, you have to look at possibly the foods that affect your brain the same way that these opioids do. And did you know that that’s milk and wheat? They affect your brain in the exact same way. So, you’ve got to clean up the foods so that you don’t get these triggers that your body mistakes for medication and then causes you to relapse.
